Organiser facilitator statement

Over the past couple of years, as many of you know, we have very carefully considered our ethos and values as an organising group. We have read and discussed how the Principles of Unity, to which we adhere, can be better manifested in our communities and, in particular, in the ethos of organising Witchcamp.

As part of this process, we have decided that Avalon Spring will be taught and organised by a team of facilitators. We believe that the term facilitator better reflects our values and beliefs, honouring the work of both organisers and teachers. However, we also acknowledge that there are differences in our roles and therefore some of the facilitators are ‘teaching facilitators‘ and some ‘organising facilitators‘.

Because ours is a small community, some of us have both roles and we are committed to be transparent about this. We hope that we will have a large enough team of organising facilitators in the future so that our belief in a rotation system can also be manifested. We believe that rotating roles, as well as moving between the inner and outer organising wheels, would keep us healthier, both as individuals and as a group. We recognise that this has not been possible so far but we state our intention for the future of Avalon Spring clearly so that willing facilitators can spring from our British Reclaiming Community.

Finally, we would like to state clearly that all facilitators are donating their labour, energy, resources, experience and love freely to this enterprise.
