Deborah Oak

Deborah Oak Cooper has been active in the Reclaiming community since its beginnings in the early 1980’s. She was a member of three covens that were instrumental in building the Reclaiming Tradition; Matrix (the first to mix magic with activism), the Wind Hags, and the Feri coven Triskits, as well as being one of the Bay Area Reclaiming Collective alumni. During the 1990’s she developed and taught workshops in what she termed “magical activism,” which were geared towards teaching activists magical skills, which were powerfully used in the 1999 action at the WTO in Seattle, and then incorporated into direct action trainings around the globe. For the past several years she has been working on the theological and practical integration of Reclaiming and Feri, and now considers herself “Reclaiming Feri”. She is a psychotherapist, an artist, an aromancer, and a mother of a teenager. She lives in the Mission District of San Francisco. Feel free to read her blog at branchesup.blogspot.com .
